Thought it was time to tell you about where we live. Owen Sound is the centre for the Bruce Peninsula and northern part of Gray County so it has all the infrastructure of a regional centre - government departments, schools, hospital, courthouse (we even had a murder trial last week!). The streets run north/south and the avenues east/west (of the Sydenham River). The shops go for about 2 blocks in each direction and there are malls, car dealerships, cinemas etc out on the highway both north and south.
Our neighbourhood is quite old. Our house was built in 1900 and most of the homes in our immediate area appear about that vintage. Most are 2 storey with a basement and attic. Naturally more modern homes are further out of town. We are 5 blocks from "downtown" which is 2nd Ave East / 10th St South. A 5 minute drive in any direction puts you in farmlands( apples, corn, beef cattle).
