CRUISIN'

At Ketchican, another frontier type town we had a wonderful experience sea kayaking. We were taken by speed boat a few miles along the coast to some islands where we met a mothership and got into our kayaks. After a safety briefing we were off paddling amongst the islands with our guide Meg, who did a great job telling us about the geography and wildlife of the area. It was fascinating paddling in the crystal clear waters, watching starfish of many types, sizes and shapes, sea cucumbers, sponges and anenomes. We were watched ourselves by several bald eagles who perched in trees waiting for the salmon run to begin.

Back on board "Millenium" we set of for 2 days cruising to Vancouver through the magnificent , calm, Inside Passage. It was great fun spotting schools of porpoise, killer whales and watching the tiny isolated settlements as we passed by, sipping on our G&Ts and Alaskan Amber beer.
