YIBBIDA YIBBIDA, THAT'S ALL FOLKS...

to steal a line from Rex Hunt. These were John's thoughts as he rolled out of bed at 6:30 am to join his new fishing buddies Jim and Ted for an authentic Canadian fishing expedition. After following sketchy directions to the boat ramp we were eventually on the water at about 7:30 in pursuit of rainbow trout and chinook salmon.
With the temperature hovering at about -3 I was well prepared : thermal undies, long sleeved t shirt (x2), polar fleece windcheater, ski jacket, ski pants, thick hiking socks (x2), snow boots, beanie & mittens.

After an uneventful hour and Jim having to attend an appointment, we headed in to find a land based angler with a metre long rainbow trout ( *#!*). A new spot was decided upon and after meeting Jim, buying sandwiches and beer we again headed into Georgian Bay for an afternoon session. With the temp now a balmy +2 we had more success, landing 5 ling cod but no trout or salmon. A great day and a very satisfying scoreline of Australia - 3, Canada - 2.
